Generic Cialis: Do We Need Another Generic Viagra?

In the pantheon of globally known brand names, Viagra is in the top list, along with Rolls-Royce and Coca-Cola. In terms of customer feedback, however, Generic Viagra (active component: sildenafil) comes in a distant second to Cialis (active component: tadalafil).

Viagra & CialisWe’ve discovered 12 separate studies, and none of them has been sponsored by any drug company, in which participants from different countries tried both Generic Viagra and Cialis and reported which one they liked the best. It was a shock: Cialis 12, Viagra 0. All 8,300 participants had favored Cialis by a long shot — 3 to 1, in fact. In studies that also included the third popular ED drug Levitra (active element: vardenafil), Cialis was still way more popular than either of the competitors.

Women also preferred Cialis. In four separate studies in which couples were using Viagra and then Cialis (or the other way around), the women strongly voiced their preference to Cialis.

What could be the explanation for this? Easy: Cialis lasts for a longer time. Generic Viagra and Levitra are both effective for roughly four hours, and Generic Cialis for 36. Thus, if a man takes a Cialis pill on Friday evening, he can still count on its effect to work for some time on Sunday. Both women and men had said they liked the fact that Cialis has allowed them not to worry about that ticking clock and just make love whenever they felt like it. For new couples who are fond of sexual spontaneity, Cialis is a clear winner.

Oddly enough, Cialis is preferred by less sexually impulsive customers as well – long-term couples, who are more likely to schedule their sex dates. The drug’s wider window of opportunities seems to make for more relaxed discussions about the time and place of sexual activity.

Similarities and differences

Apart from the time span that they last, all erection drugs work in a similar fashion. They start working in about one hour after being administered. They will work equally well when taken after a meal or on an empty stomach. None of them cause spontaneous erections; they only enhance the necessary firmness in the presence of sexual stimulation. Their side effects are also similar: headaches (reported by 16 percent of users), upset stomach (7 percent) and/or nasal congestion (4 percent).

Important: Never take erection medications if you’re taking nitroglycerin for angina; this combination can be fatal!

You might be surprised at how very few older men use erectile dysfunction drugs. The sales rate of “vitamin V” had never reached above a half of what most experts were predicting when these drugs were first approved in 1998. When the Cornell researchers surveyed 6,291 older men on this subject, 48 percent of them reported some level of erectile dysfunction, but only 7 percent had tried erection drugs. Why so few? One of the reasons is that men are less likely to open to taking any medication (compared to women).

However, one larger reason is that the drugs enhance traditional sex, whereas older couples usually evolve out of the old “in-out” towards oral sex, hand massage, and vibrator play. An accepted realization for many older lovers is that sex is kind of a hassle. Even with the help of drugs, erections may be not that stiff at an old age. Even with a lot of lubrication, vaginal dryness can cause much pain during sex. And thus, many older lovers shift away from intercourse to other pleasurable sexual activities. If you no longer have intercourse, and erections are not necessary, why take a drug?

In fact, a man does not need an erection to have an orgasm. Given sufficient stimulation, a man can have a glorious orgasm with a half-hard or a flaccid penis.

Effectiveness survey results (according to Canadian Pharmacy)

Among the men who tried erection drugs, only half refill the prescription. Why? Firstly, effectiveness. The drug-producing companies claim that these drugs have 70 to 85 percent effectiveness, but any serious research shows the effectiveness being only in the 50 to 60 percent range; for men who have heart disease, diabetes, high level of cholesterol or high blood pressure, it can be even less effective. Furthermore, you should know how the studies interpret “effectiveness”: We’re not talking about rock-hard erections here, but more like any increase in firmness that allows for intercourse. This means that even drug-stimulated erections can be on the soft side, which leaves many men feeling rather disappointed.

Summary: If you have never tried an erection drug, you’re with the majority of people. However, if you’re using one, you and your partner are likely to be happier with one that lasts the longest. At the moment, according to the latest studies, that’s Cialis.
